    Setting up Aero2 in CS Question... (Problem)

    I am not at all familiar with CS, so I apologize in advance for the dumb question...

    I just installed CS 2.1 (Personal). I also installed Aero2. I am not sure if I am doing this wrong, or if there is a problem somewhere.

    I copied the aero2 files over to the server (hosted)  as mentioned in the pdf. Then, I logged in as admin. I went to control panel. I could not see anywhere to select the Aero2 theme. I did see where to change it in the My Blogs section. I changed it there, but when I navigated to the blog, I received the "oops.." error page. I understand that Aero2 is a theme for the overall site. The only instructions I could find on changing the theme for overall site is by going into the Themes folder and renaming the Aero2 folder to default. I did this and The site temporarily shows up in the Aero2 theme, but ass soon as I try to log on as admin, I get the "oops" message again.

     Am I doing something wrong? I am not sure if that is the correct way to change the theme.

    Re: Setting up Aero2 in CS Question... (Problem)

    Hello...

    I just turned off the default error and here is the error I am getting:

    Server Error in '/CS' Application.

    The ConnectionString property has not been initialized.

    Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

    Exception Details: System.InvalidOperationException: The ConnectionString property has not been initialized.

    Source Error:

    The source code that generated this unhandled exception can only be shown when compiled in debug mode. To enable this, please follow one of the below steps, then request the URL:

    1. Add a "Debug=true" directive at the top of the file that generated the error. Example:

      <%@ Page Language="C#" Debug="true" %>

    or:

    2) Add the following section to the configuration file of your application:

    <configuration>
       <system.web>
           <compilation debug="true"/>
       </system.web>
    </configuration>

    Note that this second technique will cause all files within a given application to be compiled in debug mode. The first technique will cause only that particular file to be compiled in debug mode.

    Important: Running applications in debug mode does incur a memory/performance overhead. You should make sure that an application has debugging disabled before deploying into production scenario.

    Re: Setting up Aero2 in CS Question... (Problem)

    If you read the readme file, it tells you not to change your profiles theme as change the theme folder to default means that you wont have to do that.  So try changing you theme to basic blue and then back to aero, if that still doesn't work then something else is wrong and I recomend that u reinstall aero making sure to follow the instructions as best as you can, and not to skip any steps.  Also make sure you have the latest version of aero 2.0

    Re: Setting up Aero2 in CS Question... (Problem)

    Hello Nick,

     Once again, please specify HOW, specifically which technique w/instructions on how we are to change our theme?  The readme file simply states:

    1. Log into your installation, and change your theme to Aero 2.0.

     Obviously I havn't found where to do this within the CS application itself, so, is it in the communityserver.config file? or is it in web.config?

     CS and nbdev have me really impressed and I have a true business use case for it's implementation, I just need a little help getting it all set up before getting capital for a licencsed copy here at work.

    Thanks,

    Jerry

    Hey Nick,

    I feel like an idiot.  Being new to CS and not knowing that you have to click on your user name where it says 'signed in as' is how you change your personal settings, including profile.  Now all I need to do is find that thread about aero2.config missing.. lol.Cool
