Yep, more has been done on this already, with the introduction of the rounded borders used. These borders will eventually be loaded via the color setting of aero, but for now they are done using a static color. Click on the orb slides the customize menu into life. The Menu items expands the menu width...

For the past 6 or so hours I've been working on getting the updated Aero 2.0 Control Panel ready for RC1 which is due sometime next week. So far it allows you to look at some stuff, but that's about all. Completely AJAX, with a Community Server Control Panel style sidebar to reduce what's on the screen...

Today, I push forware the AJAX'ification of the customize tab. The backgrounds are now Ayncronously loaded when you change page now, instead of before where they were all loaded at once.
