I'm happy to announce that work is already underway for Athena Silverlight. Athena Silverlight will be a huge Silverlight addon for community server. Not only will the basic layout be Silverlight, but all of Community Server's functions will be Silverlight'd, with the exception of the Control Panel.
Currently it doesn't do much, apart from make some navigation links and some drop downs. O and the Sunspot moves across the screen depending on the hour and minute.
For some reason, sometimes the drop down menu's don't actually display anything in them, I'm still working on that one.
You can keep track of development on Athena Silverlight at www.nbdev.co.uk/Silverlight.
All that it's waiting for now is CS 2008 for the REST API to be able to fully work.
Once CS 2008 comes out full work will begin, if I have time. There won't be any options to change opacity and stuff for the 1st version, 2nd might have some background changer in it, but that's not likely atm.
We'll have to see tho.
The drop down menu's will the 1st to be coded, followed by the homepage.
Once that is done, it'll replace my current homepage, so you can see what it's like.
Now unlike asp.net, XAML is a bit different, but I'll try and make it so you can just add on your own controls to customize it.
It'll still use HTML pages. and might still use master pages just to make it easier for you to edit the common XAML regions.
It uses the Silverlight 2 alpha.
Anyhow, keep an eye on www.nbdev.co.uk/Silverlight. Thanks
