Coming to beta 3 of athena, will be the athena configuration file and schema. This file will allow you customize athena's core, including the drop down boxes, the predefined styles (new feature), the variant settings (RC feature), and the fonts.
All in one file, which can be uploaded into the theme configuration file if needed.
By default there wont be one, and will use the inbuilt defaults and the theme configuration.
Attached is a sample Athena.xml file.
In the file you can see the new drop down menu configuration
in these settings you can define, what menu items have a drop down, and override the default settings.
The types will be blogs, forums, blog, forum, galleries, files, gallery, folder, custom and null. null means it removes any drop down it may generate by default.
Next is the simple fonts, very simple.
Predefined styles, defining the xml athena, which you can get from the review tab.
Almost like the theme.config file but only reduced to a single node
Variants is much the same, although currently this isn't used, and isn't impemented anywhere in athena.
Keep an eye out for more athena info over this weekend
