Athena Beta 1.5

Athena

Athena Beta 1.5 has just been pushed onto NB Development.  It contains some quite big changes, the main one, is Resources.

Resources allow Athena to be Localized.  Completely. All the text is customizable, right down to the menu links.

This is a powerful feature of Athena.  This resource localization is done, in part with Community Server's Resources.xml file as well as Athena's own control panel theme settings.

Also in this version is a bug fix that prevented the Colors and Opacities from being saved, lol. Forgot a ToLower() in the checks. DOH!  ConfusedAngel

The Athena Message has been updated too, to include a Info Image, just to make it more noticeable.

Right, here's some screenshots: Smile

In the last screenshot you'll see the Resources Tab, this has all of the General Text and Message Resources.  In the message resources, tags, you know <br /> for instance, because the Theme.config file behind this is an XML file, we need to convert < and > into some other character, so I chose [ and ].  The Athena Javascript converts the [ and ] into < and > at runtime.  Smile

Athena Beta 2, which will include all of these changes, as well as Opacities, and Review text parsing.

The Review Text Parsing will happen when you change the text in the Review box.  It needs to be parsed by the javascript and the Athena.UserData updated to illistrate it.  Once again this change will be done instantly, keeping the "Live Preview" feature of Athena going.

That's all for now folks come back next week when beta 2 should be released.  I say should as I start uni on Monday, so might not have enough time for this, WinkStick out tongue
