Here's another post on aero 2007 with CS 2007. You'll see some more screenshots and hints.

Lets start off by saying what a joy CS 2007 is to work with. OMG is soo cool. Theming a site is really easy now, and customizing the look afterwards is even easier. The new Skinning engine makes things sooo simple even a trained monkey could theme a site. Well maybe not a monkey, maybe anyone with a slight bit of .net training. lol.
Right enuf about CS, now for some Aero news...
Aero 2007 will be soo simple to use, not mainly because the admin stuff will be in CS 2007, but the new orb menu just makes it even easier for users, and me. The new menu will be AJAX'd so I don't have to have the html there at load. Which is a good thing, let me tell u.
Aero 2007 has gone back slightly to using basic positioning instead of absolute, just because the whole body would disapear in IE when u try to use any of the default CS drop downs, doh!! It's gone back slightly but still has the Aero Borders, and semi transparent sidebar, body, navigation, and more. What more could you ask for.
In cs 2007 you can have set which sidebar's you want, all of the left, all on the right, or both. Aero 2007 will support this natively, as it should.

Right, lets have a look at the control panel. the 1st screenshot is the default CS theme, and the 2nd is my theme, notice how many more tabs there are. Yes that's all of the aero settings. With the exception of Color and Font presets, these presets will be handled in a XML file in the root of the theme. Or anywhere you specify actually, you'll even be able to upload them via the interface.
The site title has options for you, either logo, text, or both. This will allow you to customize aero like never before. You'll also be able to upload or type a url into the box.
All of these settings are kindly saved in the CS settings, and can be accessed via the inbuilt API's. No more reading XML config files, YES!!
The new aero menu will also sport Template files. This means that by editing .xml files in the template directory you will be able to edit the general content of the orb menu, so change the aero update message to read YES, it's all up to date. All in HTML of course. All backed up with a XML schema, so you can't go wrong. Well you wont be able to, aero will not accept the file and will die. You'll get a nice little ASP.net Exception error. lol. Or should!
Right, anyhow, enuf blabbering on by me. Template files, XML extra config files, default CS theme configuration page (no aeroscript CP), Aero Updates, and more, it's all to come here in Aero 2007 along with CS 2007.
Aero 2007 will also be more IE6 friendly than Aero 2, the CSS will enable the IE6 PNG hacks to make transparancies work. Wooo hooo!!
More soon
